A particular challenge is the specialised and asset-reliant nature of VPPs. Owners and financiers of the technology which requires niche knowledge have an outsized influence, in comparison to the “general public” (aka electricity bill payers). It probably takes corporate leadership and people-focused politicians.

I will be attending a conference from Jeremy Corbyn’s new party, called “Your Party”. It’s quite interesting because its entire premise is populist, and judging from prior policy, quite innovative and pro-environmentalist.

Now, I’ve heard influential people like trade union leaders and important political figures are observing from the sidelines before getting involved.

Gaining traction is often about being able to gain support from credible, influential figures who are able to mobilise others.

Nothing happens in isolation, however, this is my contribution.
